Komodo National Park (TN Komodo) is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Administratively, this National Park is located in Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara.
Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the number of tourist visits to the Komodo National Park area throughout 2021 reached 64,660 visits.
The details are 6,600 visits to Loh Liang, 53,630 visits to Padar, and 4,440 visits to Labuan Bajo.
Tourist visits to Komodo National Park in 2021 increased by 25.27% compared to the beginning of the 2020 pandemic, which totaled only 51,620 visits.
However, this number is still much lower than before the pandemic, which at one point reached a total of 221,700 visits throughout 2019.
At the beginning of the 2020 pandemic, the government did implement strict travel restrictions for both domestic and international tourists. In that year, Komodo National Park was also temporarily closed, resulting in a drastic decrease in tourist visits.
In addition to impacting the income of tourism business actors, this decrease in visits also affected the reduction of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP).
Here is a breakdown of Komodo National Park's contribution to PNBP during 2019-2021:
* 2019: Rp 38 billion
* 2020: Rp 5.54 billion
* 2021: Rp 4.6 billion
