According to a report by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the hotel room occupancy rate (TPK) for star-rated hotels in Indonesia reached 47.14% in April 2024.
This figure is up from 43.41% in March 2024 and higher than the 41.37% recorded in April 2023.
Bali had the highest national TPK for star-rated hotels at 57.69% in April 2024.
Acting Head of BPS, Amalia A. Widyasanti, stated that this achievement was influenced by preparations for several international events.
“This is driven, among other things, by the Lebaran holiday period and preparations for international events such as the World Water Forum 2024 and the Bali Spirit Festival, which took place in May,” said Amalia in a virtual press conference on Monday (3/6/2024).
Next, East Kalimantan and South Sumatra achieved star-rated hotel TPKs of 54.87% and 52.32%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the lowest TPK was recorded in West Papua at only 24.61%, followed by Bangka Belitung Islands at 23.85%, and West Sulawesi at 19.42%.
In line with star-rated hotels, the TPK for non-star-rated hotels also increased to 26.21% in April 2024, compared to 41.37% in April 2023.
The highest TPK for non-star-rated hotels in April 2024 was in Bali at 44.05%, followed by DKI Jakarta at 40.62% and South Papua at 32.93%.
The lowest TPK for non-star-rated hotels was in the Bangka Belitung Islands at 14.96%, followed by Gorontalo at 15.08% and NTT at 15.56%.
