As of Monday, May 8, 2023, 68.78 million doses of booster vaccines have been administered in Indonesia. This represents 37.88 percent of the national COVID-19 vaccination target of 234.66 million doses. According to the Ministry of Health, 5,643 booster doses were administered nationwide on the previous day.
West Java has the highest number of booster vaccine recipients nationally, with 15.48 million doses administered. Within West Java, Bogor Regency has the highest number with 1.59 million doses, followed by Bandung Regency (1.1 million), Bekasi City (979,870), Bekasi Regency (967,840), Cianjur Regency (912,790), and Bandung City (898,710).
East Java is second nationally with 9.39 million booster doses administered, with Surabaya City having the highest number within the province at 1.31 million doses.
Central Java is third with 8.58 million booster doses, followed by DKI Jakarta (5.36 million), North Sumatra (4.2 million), and Banten (2.99 million).
