The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 66 regencies/cities with weekly hospital inpatient use above the national average, currently recorded at 1.11 patients per 100,000 population/week, data as of Sunday, December 18, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest inpatient use, exceeding 4.92 patients per 100,000 population/week, are Kediri City, Sorong City, Mojokerto City, Palu City, and Central Jakarta City, with respective values of 7.17 patients per 100,000 population/week, 6.25 patients per 100,000 population/week, 6.06 patients per 100,000 population/week, 4.94 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 4.92 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that inpatient use in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. Daily inpatient use higher than previously recorded was observed in 20 regencies/cities, while 20 other regencies/cities recorded lower inpatient use.
Areas outside Java with the highest inpatient use include Sorong City, Palu City, and Pringsewu, with inpatient use of 6.25 patients per 100,000 population/week, 4.94 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 4.4 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
