The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 73 regencies/cities with a number of deaths due to Covid-19 above the national average, currently recorded at 0.04 per 100,000 population per week, data as of Sunday, October 16, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest number of deaths due to Covid-19, exceeding 0.76 per 100,000 population per week, are Majene, Tomohon City, Banggai Islands, Samosir, and Sangihe Islands, with respective values of 1.13 per 100,000 population per week, 0.91 per 100,000 population per week, 0.84 per 100,000 population per week, 0.79 per 100,000 population per week, and 0.76 per 100,000 population per week, respectively.
The national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the number of deaths due to Covid-19 in most regencies/cities outside Java. Five regencies/cities recorded a higher daily number of deaths due to Covid-19 than before, while two regencies/cities recorded a lower number.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of deaths due to Covid-19 include Majene, Tomohon City, and Banggai Islands, with respective death rates of 1.13 per 100,000 population per week, 0.91 per 100,000 population per week, and 0.84 per 100,000 population per week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
