Indonesia's COVID-19 death toll reached 113,664 by August 12, 2021, an increase of 1,466 from the previous day.
This figure placed Indonesia as the country with the second-highest COVID-19 death toll in Asia on August 13, 2021. India remained in first place with a total of 430,285 deaths.
Following Indonesia, the countries with the highest COVID-19 death tolls in Asia were Iran with 96,215 deaths, Turkey with 52,703 deaths, the Philippines with 29,539 deaths, Pakistan with 24,187 deaths, and Bangladesh with 23,613 deaths. Iraq and Japan followed with 19,466 and 15,330 deaths respectively.
For information, the number of recovered patients in Indonesia also increased by 36,637, bringing the total to 3,246,715. However, the number of patients currently hospitalized increased by 13,394, reaching a total of 412,776.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia reached 3,774,155, an increase of 24,709 from the previous day. Therefore, the public is urged to continue maintaining health protocols to prevent further spread of the coronavirus.
