Height can often be an advantage for football players. However, height is not the primary factor determining a player's success, especially at the international level, as tactics and playing style are vital.
According to *Sqaf*, the record for the shortest player to appear in Qatar is held by Moroccan national team player Ilias Chair, standing at 158 cm. This attacking midfielder, currently playing for Queens Park Rangers, was born in Belgium but represented Morocco U-20 and U-23 before making his senior team debut in 2021. Chair has made 10 appearances for the Moroccan senior team, scoring one goal from midfield.
Second place goes to Tariq Lamptey at 164 cm. Known for his speed and skillful play on the right wing, Brighton full-back Tariq Lamptey was the second shortest player at the 2022 World Cup.
Lamptey represented Ghana in Group H as part of Ghana's four-man defense, joining fellow Premier League players Daniel Amartey and Mohammed Salisu in the backline.
Meanwhile, the title of tallest player at the 2022 Qatar World Cup goes to Dutch goalkeeper Andries Noppert, according to *Sportstar*. This Dutch goalkeeper is 203 cm tall.
Following Noppert is Serbian goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic (202 cm). Then in third place is Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois (200 cm).
