Based on national Covid-19 data, 165 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data from Monday, May 30, 2022, shows a national average of 0.9 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, ranked from highest to lowest number of tests per 1,000 people per week, are Badung (7.79 people), Central Jakarta (6.27 people), South Jakarta (6.2 people), Balikpapan (5.78 people), and Berau (4.84 people).
Badung ranks first. With a population of 727,950, the number of people tested there was 7.79 per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 0.83 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Central Jakarta. The population of this region is 913,720. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested was 6.27 per 1,000 people per week. The positive rate in this region was 1.12 percent, also higher than the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, South Jakarta recorded 6.2 tests per 1,000 people per week; Balikpapan recorded 5.78 tests per 1,000 people per week; and Berau recorded 4.84 tests per 1,000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 37 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively reported a higher daily number of people tested than before. Meanwhile, 333 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of people tested compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of people tested include Badung, Balikpapan, and Berau, with 7.79, 5.78, and 4.84 people tested per 1,000 respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
