Sari Roti Achieved Rp 3.29 Trillion in Sales in 2021

Sari Roti bread producer, PT Nippon Indosari Corpindo Tbk. (ROTI), achieved sales of Rp 3.29 trillion in 2021. This represents a 2.4% increase compared to the previous year.

According to Nippon Indosari Corpindo Director, Arlina Sofia, the company implemented several strategies to ensure sustainable sales growth. Throughout 2021, ROTI chose not to focus solely on residential areas and urban regions.

"We successfully launched new products that met consumer needs during the pandemic. Equally important was optimizing and expanding our distribution channels to get closer to Indonesian families, as loyal Sari Roti consumers," said Arlina in a written press release (March 7, 2022).

Sales results reflect the contribution of operational regions. Sales from the western and eastern regions showed a total increase of 10%, significantly higher than the central region, which experienced less growth than the previous year.

Nevertheless, the central region still dominated, contributing 56.7% to the company's total sales in 2021.

ROTI also stated that various initiatives in production process and operational management have improved the company's profitability and financial performance.

Although raw material prices increased in 2021, putting pressure on gross profit, the company managed to improve its net profit margin to 8.6% from only 6.7% in 2020.

Looking at Sari Roti sales since 2017, the trend has been upward. Although Sari Roti sales declined in 2020 due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the company recorded good performance by maintaining a healthy Net Profit Margin at 6.7%.
