Snacks are one of the most frequently purchased products by Indonesian consumers. Types of snacks such as various potato sticks, cheese sticks, and cassava chips are usually consumed during leisure time or accompany daily activities.

So, how much do Indonesian consumers spend on average to buy snacks?

Based on a survey by the Kurious-Katadata Insight Center (KIC), the majority of Indonesian consumers spend an average of less than Rp30,000 on snacks.

In detail, 58.3% of respondents bought snacks priced at Rp10,000-Rp30,000. This was followed by 36.4% of respondents who bought snacks for less than Rp10,000.

There were also respondents who bought snacks priced at Rp30,000-Rp50,000, accounting for 4.5%. Meanwhile, the smallest percentage of respondents, only 0.8%, bought snacks costing more than Rp50,000.

Most respondents were from the 35-44 age group (33.6%), followed by the 25-34 age group (29.4%) and the 45-54 age group (20.8%).

Data collection was conducted from July 26 to August 3, 2023, using the computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI) method, with a margin of error of approximately 3.98% and a 95% confidence level.
