Motorcycles, while smaller and less complex than cars, aren't necessarily cheaper. Some motorcycles boast powerful and sophisticated engines, driving their prices up to, and even exceeding, those of cars.
According to hotcars.com, here are eight of the world's most expensive motorcycles in 2021:
1. Ducati Desmosedici D16RR NCR M16 - US$ 235,000 (Rp 3.3 Billion (Exchange rate Rp 14,074/US$))
With a 4-stroke V4 engine, the Ducati Desmosedici D16RR NCR M16 is claimed to be the lightest motorcycle Ducati has ever produced. Made from carbon fiber, it weighs only 144 kg. The Desmosedici is a prototype motorcycle developed by Ducati for MotoGP racing.
2. Ducati Testa Stretta NCR Macchia Nera - US$ 225,000 (Rp 3.16 Billion)
This motorcycle has a very large engine capacity, a V2, 4-stroke engine type. This engine type produces a maximum power output of 185 hp with a top speed of 370 km/h.
3. Suzuki AEM Carbon Fiber Hayabusa - US$ 200,000 (Rp 2.8 Billion)
The Suzuki AEM Carbon Fiber Hayabusa is a special production from Suzuki in collaboration with AEM, officially launched at the SEMA show in Las Vegas in 2008. This motorcycle's strengths lie in its luxurious design and robust engine.
4. Honda RC213V-S - US$ 185,000 (Rp 2.6 Billion)
The Honda RC213V-S has a speed similar to the Honda RC213V used by the Repsol Honda team for MotoGP racing. Its engine has a capacity of 999 cc, DOHC V4 configuration, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled DOHC. In the global (European) market, this motorcycle has two variants: the standard Honda RC213V-S and the more powerful Honda RC213V-S Sport Kit.
5. MTT Turbine Streetfighter - US$ 175,000 (Rp 2.46 Billion)
The MTT Turbine Streetfighter easily generates 320 horsepower, allowing it to reach a top speed of 400.7 km/h. Its aluminum body and 17-inch carbon fiber rims further enhance its speed.
6. Icon Sheene - US$ 172,000 (Rp 2.42 Billion)
This motorcycle features a DOHC 6-speed, inline 4-cylinder engine with a 1400 cc capacity. It also has a strong and lightweight aluminum frame, making it easier for the rider to maneuver.
7. NCR Leggera 1200 Titanium Special - US$ 148,000 (Rp 2.08 Billion)
The NCR Leggera 1200 Titanium Special has a rather aggressive and attractive design, making it popular. This motorcycle is actually an upgraded Ducati Corse DS 1100 from NCR, increasing the cylinder capacity to 1200 cc.
8. NCR MH TT (Mike Hailwood) - US$ 130,000 (Rp 1.82 Billion)
This motorcycle is a modern replica of the Ducati 900 NCR based on the Ducati Sport 1000. It boasts 130 horsepower and weighs 136 kg. The NCR MH TT was created to commemorate Mike Hailwood's victory at the Isle of Man.
