The World's Most Expensive Chocolate Brands: Some Cost More Than 14 Billion Rupiah

Chocolate is a sweet treat found in various places at varying prices. One can find chocolate ranging from thousands to hundreds of thousands of rupiah in supermarkets, traditional markets, and online stores.

Although all made from cocoa beans, some chocolate brands worldwide are sold at incredibly high prices; some even cost more than 14 billion rupiah. The reasons vary, ranging from added ingredients to presentation.

According to luxatic.com, Le Chocolate Box is crowned the world's most expensive chocolate. It costs US$1 million, or Rp 14.4 billion (at an exchange rate of Rp 14,366/US$). Its high price isn't due to rare ingredients but because the packaging contains a jewelry collection by Simons Jewelers.

The second most expensive chocolate in the world is Frozen Haute Chocolate, sold at US$25,000. Frozen Haute Chocolate is a dessert served with hot chocolate and contains 5 grams of 24-karat gold. Third on the list of the world's most expensive chocolates is the Golden Speckled Chocolate Egg, priced at US$11,100.

Other among the world's most expensive chocolates include Swarovski Studded Chocolates (US$10,000), Cadbury Wispa Gold Chocolate Bar (US$1,600), Cocoa Gourmet Gold and Diamond Chocolates (US$1,250), Michel Cluizel Box of Assorted Treats (US$895), Noka Vintages Collection (US$854), DeLafée Gold Chocolate Box With Antique Swiss Gold Coin (US$500), and Art Series Guayasamin by To'ak (US$450).
