Jakpat survey results show that in September 2025, 77% of Indonesian student and worker respondents chose local brand food when eating out.

Broken down by heavy meal or main dish category, noodles and soup held the top spot, with 68% of students and 67% of workers choosing them.

Ayam geprek also became a popular category, ranking second, with 62% of students and 57% of workers choosing it.

Next was local cuisine, chosen by 50% of students and 55% of workers. Lastly, rice bowls, with 17% of students and 23% of workers.

Within these categories, Jakpat also investigated the food brands.

Although noodles and soup were the most chosen food category, the brands investigated within this group were still lower compared to Ayam Geprek brands.

This food category-specific survey involved 769 out of 995 general respondents across eight urban areas on Java Island. These areas include Bogor, Depok, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surakarta, Semarang, Malang, and Surabaya.

Overall, respondents consisted of 55% men and 45% women. Their occupational backgrounds were workers (52%), students (37%), unemployed (7%), and housewives (4%).

Data was collected online from September 2-7, 2025, via the Jakpat application, with a margin of error below 5%.
