Top-Selling TWS Brands Globally in Q2 2024

According to market research firm Canalys, global shipments of true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds reached 76.7 million units in Q2 2024. This represents a 12.6% year-on-year (YoY) growth.

TWS is a wireless audio technology that produces stereo sound. Users can enjoy audio from speakers or mobile phones without wired connections, typically using Bluetooth connectivity.

“Manufacturers are actively seeking ways to add new features to stand out in an increasingly competitive landscape characterized by homogeneity and price wars,” said Canalys Research Manager Cynthia Chen in her report on Monday, August 19, 2024.

Apple dominated global TWS shipments with 16.8 million units in Q2 2024, capturing a 21.9% global market share.

This figure includes TWS sales from Apple's subsidiary, Beats.

Despite its leading position, Apple's TWS shipments saw a 5.4% YoY correction.

Samsung ranked second with 6 million TWS units shipped, including sales from its subsidiary, Harman. However, shipments from the South Korean manufacturer decreased slightly by 0.5% YoY.

Xiaomi followed with 5 million TWS units shipped, a surge of 42.5% YoY. boAt shipped 4.7 million units, up 2.8% YoY, while Huawei shipped 3.7 million units, a significant increase of 59.5% YoY.

Combined shipments of TWS devices from other brands reached 40.5 million units, growing 12.6% year-on-year.
