According to a report by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), there were 446 poultry farming companies in Indonesia in 2022.

The details are: 442 companies were active, 20 were temporarily closed, and 4 were permanently closed.

West Java recorded the highest number of poultry farms in Indonesia, with 161 units, contributing 36.43% of the total poultry farms in the country.

Banten came second, with 69 poultry farms, equivalent to 15.61% of the total.

Third was Central Java, with 51 poultry farms, or 11.54%.

Other provinces contributed less than 10%. The BPS explained that the distribution of poultry farms in Indonesia was still uneven last year.

The BPS clarified that poultry farming companies are those engaged in poultry breeding and cultivation.

The production from these companies consists of eggs and poultry meat.

Throughout 2022, the BPS recorded that poultry farming companies created jobs for 21,912 people.

This figure comprises 15,789 permanent employees and 6,123 non-permanent or contract workers.
