Top 10 Largest Chicken Meat Producing Countries in the World 2023: Who's Number One?

Chicken meat is one of the most commonly consumed animal proteins daily.

According to data from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), global chicken meat production reached 101.81 million metric tons in 2022. This figure increased slightly by 0.74% from the 2023 production, which reached 101.06 million metric tons.

The United States is recorded as the world's largest chicken meat producer, with production volume reaching 20.9 million metric tons in 2022. The country has consistently been the world's largest chicken meat producer since 2019.

Brazil follows in second place, having produced 14.46 million metric tons of chicken meat throughout 2022.

China and the European Union are next, with chicken meat production reaching 14.3 million metric tons and 10.87 million metric tons respectively.

Russia is ranked fifth, with chicken meat production of 4.8 million metric tons last year. The remaining data is included in the graph above.

Meanwhile, the USDA did not record chicken meat production from Indonesia. However, this report notes chicken meat production from a cumulative of other countries besides those listed above, totaling 20.88 million metric tons in 2022.
