Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo stated that his ministry has four work programs to increase agricultural productivity and inclusive and sustainable economic transformation.

These four programs include programs for the availability, access, and consumption of quality food; programs for added value and industry competitiveness; vocational education and training programs; and management support programs.

Here are the details of the target production of the Ministry of Agriculture's main commodities in 2023:

1. Rice: 54.50 million tons
2. Sugarcane: 37.15 million tons
3. Corn: 23.05 million tons
4. Coconut: 2.99 million tons
5. Chili: 2.93 million tons
6. Shallots: 1.71 million tons
7. Coffee: 810 thousand tons
8. Cocoa: 780 thousand tons
9. Soybean: 590 thousand tons
10. Beef/Buffalo Meat: 465.15 thousand tons
11. Garlic: 45.45 thousand tons

On the same occasion, Commission IV of the DPR approved the Ministry of Agriculture's budget in the 2023 State Budget (APBN). The amount is Rp15.31 trillion.

Of the approved budget, the largest allocation goes to the Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health with a value of approximately Rp2.8 trillion. Then, the Directorate General of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities receives an allocation of Rp2.7 trillion.
