Indonesia's Rubber Plantation Area Decreased in 2024, Lowest in a Decade

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) compiled by Databoks, Indonesia had a rubber plantation area of approximately 3.15 million hectares (ha) in 2024.

This area includes rubber cultivation land that is already productive, not yet productive, and non-producing rubber land. This data covers harvests from smallholder, state, and private plantations.

Indonesia's rubber plantation area in 2024 decreased by approximately 3.46 thousand ha, or shrunk by 0.1% compared to 2023.

This achievement also marks the lowest level in the last decade, as shown in the graph.

In 2024, 24 out of 38 provinces in Indonesia were recorded as having rubber plantation areas.

The largest rubber plantation areas were recorded in South Sumatra, Jambi, and North Sumatra.

7. South Kalimantan: 181.87 thousand ha

8. Lampung: 142.6 thousand ha

9. West Sumatra: 114.16 thousand ha

10. Bengkulu: 88.15 thousand ha
