Number of Horticultural Companies in Indonesia for the Period 2021-2025

According to data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), the number of horticulture companies in Indonesia fluctuated between 2021 and 2025.

Increases occurred twice during 2021-2023. In 2021, there were 115 companies, rising to 335 companies in 2023.

However, in the two subsequent years, the number of horticulture companies in Indonesia experienced a consecutive decline. The latest data for 2025 shows 244 companies.

According to BPS, compared to the number of horticulture companies in 2021, there was an increase of approximately 10.41% in 2025.

By region, in 2025, horticulture companies were concentrated on Java Island, with 172 units, equivalent to 70.49% of the national total.

Among the cultivated plant groups, fruit crops were the main commodity, accounting for 29.51%.

Meanwhile, regarding business entity types, half, or approximately 50.82% of horticulture companies in 2025 were limited liability companies (PT), and 43.03% were limited partnerships (CV).

Other business entity types, BPS stated, were relatively small, such as foundations (2.46%), village cooperative units (KUD) (2.05%), and regional enterprises (PD) (1.23%).

“Meanwhile, only 1 company unit was registered as a state-owned company (Persero), or approximately 0.41%,” BPS explained in its report.
