Indonesia Enters Top 15 Global Corn Producers for 2024/2025

According to projections from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), global corn production volume will reach 1.23 billion metric tons in the 2024/2025 marketing year.

During this period, Indonesia is projected to be the 12th largest global corn producer, with an estimated production of 13.1 million metric tons.

The top position is held by the United States, with corn production of 377.63 million metric tons, equivalent to 31% of the total global production.

Below is a list of the top 15 corn-producing countries in the world for the 2024/2025 marketing year, according to USDA projections:

1. United States: 377.63 million metric tons
2. China: 294.92 million metric tons
3. Brazil: 135 million metric tons
4. European Union: 59.31 million metric tons
5. Argentina: 50 million metric tons
6. India: 42.28 million metric tons
7. Ukraine: 26.8 million metric tons
8. Mexico: 23.1 million metric tons
9. South Africa: 16.5 million metric tons
10. Canada: 15.35 million metric tons
11. Russia: 14 million metric tons
12. Indonesia: 13.1 million metric tons
13. Nigeria: 11.2 million metric tons
14. Ethiopia: 10.2 million metric tons
15. Philippines: 8.33 million metric tons

It should be noted that the USDA's 2024/2025 marketing year data refers to a 12-month period starting from the beginning of the harvest season.

However, each country has a different trade season. For example, for the United States and Canada, 2024/2025 refers to the 12-month period from September 2024 to August 2025.

Meanwhile, for Brazil and Argentina, it refers to March 2024-February 2025, and for Indonesia, October 2024-September 2025.
