According to projections by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), global coffee consumption will reach 166.5 million 60-kilogram bags in the 2024/2025 marketing year.

This represents an increase of approximately 1.58% compared to the 2023/2024 consumption of 163.9 million bags.

In 2024/2025, the European Union will be the world's largest coffee consumer, with 39.88 million bags, or 24% of total global coffee consumption.

Indonesia ranks eighth globally, with a coffee consumption volume of 4.8 million bags.

The following is a list of the top 10 coffee-consuming countries in the world for the 2024/2025 marketing year:

1. European Union: 39.88 million 60-kilogram bags

2. United States: 25.35 million bags

3. Brazil: 21.97 million bags

4. Japan: 6.77 million bags

5. Philippines: 6.33 million bags

6. China: 5.66 million bags

7. Canada: 5 million bags

8. Indonesia: 4.8 million bags

9. Russia: 4.45 million bags

10. United Kingdom: 4.01 million bags

For example, in Indonesia, the 2024/2025 coffee marketing year refers to the 12-month period from April 2024 to March 2025.

This differs from Brazil and the Philippines, where the trading season refers to July 2024 to June 2025. The United States and China, meanwhile, refer to October 2024 to September 2025.
