Cooking Oil Prices in These 10 Provinces Were the Highest in Indonesia on December 28, 2021

The global increase in demand for crude palm oil (CPO) following the easing of the Covid-19 pandemic has driven up cooking oil prices domestically. This is because palm oil is the main ingredient in cooking oil.

Uneven supply and increased demand have made cooking oil more expensive. According to data from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center (PIHPS), the price of bulk cooking oil (relatively inexpensive) in Gorontalo's traditional markets is sold at Rp 21,650 per kilogram (kg). This is the highest price compared to other regions in Indonesia.

Next, the price of bulk cooking oil in DKI Jakarta is recorded as the second highest, sold at Rp 20,500 per kg. Then Lampung at Rp 19,700 per kg, West Java at Rp 19,600 per kg, and South Sumatra at Rp 19,450 per kg.

In East Java's traditional markets, bulk cooking oil is sold at Rp 19,200 per kg. Following this is Riau at Rp 19,200 per kg, Riau Islands at Rp 19,150 per kg. Then South Sulawesi and Central Java with prices of Rp 19,150 per kg and Rp 18,950 per kg respectively.

The average price of cooking oil in national traditional markets was Rp 18,200 per kg on December 28, 2021. This figure is down Rp 550 per kg (2.93%) compared to the previous day, which reached Rp 18,750 per kg.
