Jakarta's Export Value Reaches US$1 Billion at the End of 2021

Jakarta's exports reached US$1.03 billion in November 2021. According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) report, this figure represents a 7.09% increase compared to the previous month's US$968.2 million.

Compared to the same period last year, Jakarta's export value increased by 7.92%. In November 2020, Jakarta's exports were recorded at US$960.8 million.

The increase in Jakarta's exports in November 2021 occurred across several commodities. Clothing and accessories exports saw the highest increase, rising by 32.2% to US$30.2 million in November 2021 from US$22.9 million in October 2021.

November 2021 also saw increased exports of various chemical products, up 22% month-on-month. Other commodities showing increases compared to the previous month include fish, crustaceans, and mollusks (up 20.9%), animal and vegetable fats and oils (up 18.1%), and soap and mechanical machinery and parts (up 16.4%).

Conversely, several other major commodities experienced a decline in export value in November 2021. Jewelry and precious stones fell by 17.4% month-on-month, and soap and cleaning preparations fell by 11.6%.

China remained the main destination for DKI Jakarta's exports in November 2021, with a value of US$174.5 million, or 16.8% of the total. This was followed by Singapore with exports valued at US$95 million (9.2%), the United States at US$91.7 million (8.8%), and the Philippines at US$87.6 million (8.4%).
