Land Acquisition for National Strategic Projects (PSN) Reaches Rp123.87 Trillion by 2023, Most for Toll Roads

The National Asset Management Institute (LMAN) allocated Rp159.89 trillion (approximately US$10.7 billion) for land acquisition for National Strategic Projects (NSPs) during the 2017-2023 period.

Of this amount, approximately 77.47% or Rp123.87 trillion (approximately US$8.3 billion) was disbursed during the same period. Rp18.2 trillion (approximately US$1.2 billion) was disbursed in 2023 alone.

"This funding is spread across 117 NSPs, encompassing 8 sectors," said Rustanto, Director of Land Acquisition and Funding at LMAN, in a virtual press conference on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

The largest portion of land acquisition funds for NSPs was allocated to the toll road sector, totaling Rp104.27 trillion (approximately US$7 billion) for 53 NSPs.

This was followed by Rp13.33 trillion (approximately US$0.9 billion) for dams in 38 NSPs, Rp3.25 trillion (approximately US$0.2 billion) for railways in 10 NSPs, and Rp1.42 trillion (approximately US$0.1 billion) for the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) in 8 NSPs.

Land acquisition for the IKN development was disbursed only in 2023.

The remaining funds were used for land acquisition in 5 irrigation NSPs (Rp622 billion or approximately US$42 million), 1 raw water NSP (Rp77 billion or approximately US$5 million), 1 port NSP (Rp800 billion or approximately US$54 million), and 1 National Strategic Tourism Area (KSPN) NSP (Rp85 billion or approximately US$6 million).

For 2024, LMAN has prepared Rp18 trillion (approximately US$1.2 billion) for land acquisition for NSPs.

"This target should not merely be achieved, but surpassed. This demonstrates the government's commitment to infrastructure development," said Rustanto.
