Semarang's network of roads in good condition decreased by 65.4 km in 2020.

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that the length of roads under the authority of the Semarang City government was 839.9 km in 2020. This comprises 510.97 km of asphalt roads, 299.05 km of concrete roads, 20.21 km of earth roads, and 9.67 km of gravel roads.

According to road condition, the length of roads in good condition in Semarang City decreased between 2018 and 2020. The total length of roads in good condition in 2020 was 331.4 km, a decrease of 65.4 km (16.5%) compared to the previous year's 396.8 km.

This decrease in the length of roads in good condition led to an increase in the length of roads in fair and poor condition in Semarang City. The length of roads in fair condition was 430.25 km in 2020, an increase of 74.1 km (20.8%) compared to the previous year's 356.15 km.

Meanwhile, roads in poor condition totaled 78.24 km in 2020, an increase of 34.07 km (77.14%) from the previous year's 44.17 km. In 2020, there were no roads categorized as severely damaged in Semarang City.

In 2020, Gunungpati District had the longest length of asphalt roads in Semarang City, at 68.12 km. This district had no gravel or earth roads. Conversely, Tugu District had the shortest length of asphalt roads, at only 4.2 km.
