Hedy Rahadian, Director General of Bina Marga at the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), stated that his office is preparing and evaluating national roads and toll roads for the 2023 Eid al-Fitr homecoming.
Hedy detailed several toll road sections that can be used. On Java Island, 1,716 kilometers (km) of toll roads are operational, with 90 rest areas and service facilities (TIP): 56 TIP A, 34 TIP B, and 0 TIP C.
He continued, explaining that additional toll road sections have been opened on Java Island to facilitate the 2023 Eid al-Fitr homecoming. These include: Bekasi-Cawang-Kp. Melayu (Section 2A Jaka Sampurna-Kayuringin-Ujung, 4.88 km); Semarang-Demak (Section 2 Sayung-Demak, 16.01 km); and Ramps 2, 4, 5, and 8 of the Wringinanom-Krian-Legundi-Bunder-Manyar Junction.
Furthermore, potential functional toll roads on Java Island for the Eid al-Fitr homecoming include: Cinere-Jagorawi; Section 3B: Krukut-Limo (2.2 km); Serpong-Cinere; Section 2: Pamulang-Cinere (3.6 km); Cibitung-Cilincing; Section 4: Taruma Jaya-Cilincing (7.3 km); Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan; Cimalaka-Dawuan section; Section 1 Cileunyi-Pamulihan (11.40 km); Section 2 Pamulihan-Sumedang (17.05 km); and Section 3 Sumedang-Cimalaka 4.05 km (total 32.5 km); Ciawi-Sukabumi; Section 2: Cigombong-Cibadak (11.9 km); Cimanggis-Cibitung; Section 2A: Jatikarya-Cikeas (3.5 km); Pasuruan-Probolinggo; Section 4A: Probolinggo Timur-IC Gending (8.6 km); Serpong-Balaraja, Section IB; CBD-Legok (5.4 km); and Jakarta Cikampek II Selatan; Package 3: Kutanegara-Sadang (8.5 km).
"Meanwhile, the Bali-Mandara Toll Road is operational for 10.07 km, and 363.3 km of national roads are ready for use on Bali Island," said Hedy in his official statement on Monday (March 27, 2023).
The Trans-Sumatra Toll Road is operational for 738 km with 27 TIPs, consisting of 20 TIP A and 7 TIP B.
Functional toll road sections include Sigli-Banda Aceh (sections 5 and 6 Blang Bintang-Kutobaro-SS Baitussalam, 12.4 km), and Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat (Kuala Tanjung-Pematang Siantar section, 96.5 km).
Hedy also explained that the Balikpapan-Samarinda Toll Road in Kalimantan is operational for 99 km.
Finally, on Sulawesi Island, 61.5 km of toll roads are operational, consisting of the Ujung Pandang/Makassar Toll Road sections 1-3 (10.1 km); the Makassar Toll Road section 4 (11.6 km); and the Manado-Bitung Toll Road (39.8 km).
