According to Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) statistics, the most expensive electricity tariff per kWh in 2015 was for public street lighting, reaching Rp 1,459 per kWh. This average electricity selling price exceeded the average selling price to the business sector, which previously always held the highest price compared to other customer groups.
PLN data from 2015 shows that the amount of electricity sold in 2015 totaled 202,845.82 GWh, a 2.14 percent increase compared to the previous year. The industrial customer group consumed 64,079.39 GWh (31.59 percent), households consumed 88,682.13 GWh (43.72 percent), businesses consumed 36,978.05 GWh (18.23 percent), and others (social, government buildings, and public street lighting) consumed 13,106.25 GWh (6.46 percent).
Electricity sales to household, business, and other customer groups increased by 5.47 percent, 1.92 percent, and 6.35 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, the industrial customer group experienced a decrease of 2.78 percent.
