PLN's Total Debt Down 6% in the First Half of 2021

State-owned electricity company Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) had a total debt of Rp 643.9 trillion in the first half of 2021. This figure is down 6% compared to the first half of 2020, which was Rp 684.6 trillion.

PLN's total debt consists of long-term and short-term liabilities. Long-term liabilities reached Rp 500.3 trillion. This is a decrease of 5.26% from the same period last year, which was Rp 528.1 trillion.

Short-term liabilities were recorded at Rp 143.5 trillion as of June 30, 2021. This is down 8.3% compared to the same period the previous year, which was Rp 156.5 trillion.

Long-term liabilities are dominated by bonds and sukuk ijarah totaling Rp 196.5 trillion. Then, bank loans amount to Rp 148.7 trillion and compensation debt at Rp 55.9 trillion.

Meanwhile, the largest short-term liabilities come from third-party trade payables of Rp 34.5 trillion. There are also other payables of Rp 18.8 trillion, bank loans of Rp 17.5 trillion, customer security deposits of Rp 15.1 trillion, and bonds and sukuk ijarah debt of Rp 14.5 trillion.

In terms of equity, the company's equity in the first half of 2021 was recorded at Rp 945.8 trillion. This is up 1.4% from Rp 932.9 trillion in the first half of 2020.

The total assets as of June 30, 2021, were recorded at Rp 1,589.65 trillion. This is down 1.7% compared to June 30, 2020, which was recorded at Rp 1,617.5 trillion.
