According to *The 2022 Airline Index* report released by Bounce, two Lion Group airlines, Lion Air and Wings Air, were ranked the worst airlines in the world in 2022.
Bounce evaluated 50 of the world's largest airlines and 12 US-based airlines.
The assessment was based on several indicators, including on-time performance, flight cancellation rates, food and in-flight entertainment quality, staff service quality, seat comfort, and baggage policies.
Lion Air received a score of only 0.72 out of 10. This was the lowest score among all surveyed airlines.
"Lion Air has a disappointing on-time arrival rate of 42.47%, with a shocking flight cancellation rate of 34.43%. This means that one-third of Lion Air flights were canceled in the past year," Bounce stated in its official website report on Tuesday (25/10/2022).
Lion Air received a score of 1 out of 5 for food and entertainment, and a score of 2 out of 5 for seat comfort and staff service.
Wings Air was ranked the second worst airline with a score of 1.11 points. Its on-time arrival rate was 49.78%, its cancellation rate was 20.63%, and it received a score of 2 out of 5 for staff service and seat comfort, and 1 out of 5 for food and entertainment.
Batik Air ranked 17th as the world's worst airline with a score of 2.74 points. Its on-time arrival rate was 62.64%, and its cancellation rate was 16.01%.
