Daihatsu Gran Max Sales Reach 28,000 Units in the First Half of 2022

The Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo) recorded a 78.12% surge in Daihatsu Gran Max sales to 5,203 units in June 2022 compared to the previous month.

As a result, sales of vehicles from the Japanese automotive manufacturer also grew by 8.77% to 28,720 units in the first half of 2022 compared to the first half of the previous year. Daihatsu Gran Max sales in the first half of this year surpassed those in the first half of 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic, which reached 22,960 units.

Gran Max sales experienced pressure at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. There were even zero sales in May 2020 due to the implementation of social restrictions to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Starting in September 2020, Gran Max sales began to improve, reaching their highest level of 6,124 units in September 2021.

Entering 2022, the easing of social restrictions and the resumption of domestic economic activity spurred demand for commercial vehicles, both for passenger and goods transportation, such as the Gran Max.

* Gran Max Minibus 1,300 cc starts from Rp 195.6 million - Rp 229.1 million per unit.
