What Were the Most Popular Motorcycle Types in the First Half of 2021?

Scooter-type motorcycles were the most popular among domestic consumers in the first half of 2021. Based on data from the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI), they accounted for 86.81% of total motorcycle distribution domestically from January to June 2021.

Meanwhile, other motorcycle types distributed domestically in the first half of 2021 were underbone and sport. The details are: 6.95% of domestically distributed motorcycles were underbone, while 6.24% were sport.

A similar trend occurred in motorcycle distribution in the export market. Scooter-type motorcycles dominated export distribution, at 69.65%. The proportion for sport-type motorcycles was 17.03%, and for underbone-type motorcycles, 13.32%.

Domestic motorcycle sales totaled 2,450,088 units from January to June 2021. This figure increased by 155.1% compared to the same period the previous year.

Motorcycle exports totaled 402,123 units during the first six months of this year. This number increased by 117.3% compared to the same period last year.
