The Daihatsu Sigra was the best-selling car in Indonesia in May 2023, surpassing other frequent top contenders such as the Toyota Avanza, Mitsubishi Xpander, and Honda Brio.
According to data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), the Sigra was the top-selling car last month, with 5,347 units sold from the factory to dealers (wholesale) in the domestic market.
Following the Sigra was the Toyota Avanza with 5,277 units sold. In third place was the Toyota Kijang Innova with 4,782 units, and in fourth place was the Daihatsu Gran Max Pick-Up with 4,455 units.
Rounding out the top five was the Toyota Calya with 3,944 units. Meanwhile, the Honda Brio, usually a close competitor to the Avanza for the top spot, dropped to sixth place with 3,863 units sold.

Overall, wholesale car sales in the domestic market in May 2023 reached 82,097 units. This figure surged approximately 39.35% from the previous month (month-on-month/MoM).
Compared to the same period last year, domestic wholesale car sales in May 2023 also increased by 65.15% (year-on-year/YoY).
