The Whoosh High-Speed Train broke its daily passenger record again, reaching 21,312 passengers on November 12, 2023.
This number was achieved through 36 scheduled trips, comprising 28 regular trips and 8 additional trips.
Corporate Secretary of PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), Eva Chairunisa, stated that the daily passenger volume on November 12, 2023, marked the highest performance since the Whoosh High-Speed Train commenced commercial operations in mid-October 2023.
Previously, the highest daily passenger volume was reached on November 11, 2023, at approximately 20,000 passengers, and on November 4, 2023, at approximately 18,000 passengers.
The increase in passengers coincides with an increase in the number of trips, from 32 trips on November 4, 2023, to 36 trips on November 11-12, 2023.
Eva stated that the increase in the number of Whoosh High-Speed Train passengers is also supported by an increase in the number of trips on weekends.
"The Whoosh High-Speed Train has now become one of the preferred modes of transportation for people traveling between Jakarta and Bandung and vice versa," said Eva, as quoted by *CNBC Indonesia*, Sunday (12/11/2023).
Of the approximately 21,000 passengers on November 12, 2023, the majority were premium economy class passengers, namely 19,929 people or 93.5% of the total passengers.
There were 886 business class passengers (4.2%) and 497 first-class passengers (2.3%).
"The average occupancy for each trip reached 98.5%. For certain schedules, the occupancy reached 100% or was completely sold out," said Eva.
Given the high passenger demand, Eva stated that KCIC will conduct regular evaluations, particularly regarding the schedule and number of train trips.
