The Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (GAIKINDO) reported that domestic car sales reached 84,113 units in September 2021. This figure represents a 0.95% increase compared to August 2021, which saw 83,319 units sold.
Toyota was the best-selling car brand, selling 34,122 units last month. Toyota's car sales increased by 13.8% from August 2021, when 29,978 units were sold.
Daihatsu came in second with 17,529 units sold in September 2021. This figure is up 21.7% from the previous month's 14,408 units.
Mitsubishi followed with 12,200 units sold last month. However, Mitsubishi's car sales decreased by 11.1% from August 2021, when 13,720 units were sold.
Suzuki sold 7,515 units in September 2021, a 25% decrease from the previous month's 10,021 units. Honda's car sales reached 3,453 units last month, down 52.9% from August 2021's 7,337 units.
Isuzu successfully increased its car sales by 15.9%, from 2,285 units to 2,648 units. Nissan also experienced a sales increase of 38.1%, from 375 units to 518 units.
UD Trucks experienced a 68.5% decrease in car sales, from 54 units to 17 units. Meanwhile, Peugeot car sales increased by 200%, from 4 units to 12 units.
