In April 2018, the Mitsubishi Xpander once again became the best-selling car. Data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (GAIKINDO) recorded sales of 7,097 units for this Mitsubishi Low Multi Purpose Vehicle (LMPV) designed for small families. This figure surpassed sales of its competitors in the same class. However, last month's Xpander sales saw a 5.28% decrease compared to the previous month's 7,493 units.
Since its launch in August 2017, the Xpander has captured public attention, selling 13,070 units between September and December 2017. Then, from January to April 2018, 29,069 units were sold. Therefore, total Xpander sales from September 2017 to April 2018 reached 42,139 units.
The second best-selling car last month was the Toyota Avanza, with sales reaching 6,917 units, followed by the Toyota Calya in third place with 6,292 units. Overall, national wholesale car sales from January to April 2018 grew by 5.6% to 394,421 units compared to the same period the previous year, which saw 373,348 units sold.
