PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Logistik managed approximately 28 million tons of freight throughout 2023.
This volume was dominated by coal transport in South Sumatra, amounting to 25 million tons. This represents 90% of the total freight volume last year.
This aligns with KAI Logistik's contribution to supporting the 100,000 megawatt (MW) program by 2025 through the construction of the Kramasan Coal Unloading Terminal in South Sumatra.
This terminal will be a coal unloading terminal with a production capacity of 20 million tons of coal per year.
In 2023, KAI Logistik also transported 2 million tons of containers, 858,000 tons of cement, and 7,700 tons of courier services.
KAI Logistik's President Director, Ahmad Malik Syah, stated that this achievement was obtained through service improvements and freight rate adjustments.
Furthermore, Ahmad mentioned that KAI Logistik achieved revenue of Rp 1.10 trillion, or 88% of its 2023 Corporate Work Plan and Budget (RKAP) target.
"Although the target was not fully achieved, KAI Logistik grew by 9% compared to 2022," said Ahmad in his official statement on Friday (January 19, 2024).
For 2024, KAI Logistik targets a 14% revenue growth to Rp 1.26 trillion.
"This growth is partly influenced by the Kramasan Terminal, which will commence operations in the fourth quarter of 2024," said Ahmad.
