According to data from PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI), there are 1,081 Commuterline KRL train trips per day from Monday to Friday in the Jabodetabek area.
PT KCI Acting Technical Director Roppiq Lutfi Azhar said that Commuterline KRL traffic in Jabodetabek is indeed dense, especially on weekdays.
"To illustrate, on the Jakarta-Bogor line, the headway is already five minutes between consecutive trains," said Roppiq in a Working Meeting with Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) on Wednesday (September 14, 2022).
From Monday to Friday, the majority of Commuterline KRL trips in Jabodetabek are on the Bogor Line, namely 384 trips per day.
This is followed by the Bekasi Line with 285 trips, the Serpong Line with 218 trips, the Tangerang Line with 108 trips, and the Tanjung Priok Line with 86 trips per day.
Meanwhile, the number of Commuterline KRL trips on Saturdays and Sundays or holidays only decreases slightly, to 1,051 trips.
"(The number of train trips) decreases slightly on Saturdays and Sundays at certain hours. Therefore, we reduce the number of train trips," said Roppiq.
The Bogor Line still dominates Commuterline KRL trips on Saturdays and Sundays, namely 357 trips per day.
Next, the Bekasi Line recorded 287 trips, the Serpong Line 213 trips, the Tangerang Line 108 trips, and the Tanjung Priok Line 86 trips per day. The Commuterline KRL operates daily from 4:00 AM to 12:00 AM WIB.
