Juanda Airport Ranked Most Punctual in the World

Amidst widespread Indonesian aviation news of flight delays and even intoxicated pilots, Juanda Airport has achieved a significant milestone. A release from UK-based air travel analysis firm OAG names Juanda International Airport as the most punctual large airport (10-20 million passengers per year). Located in Sidoarjo, the airport boasts an average on-time performance (OTP) of 90.30 percent.

This OTP measurement indicates that Juanda Airport successfully maintained arrival and departure times within 15 minutes of schedule over the past year. Following Juanda were Honolulu Airport in the United States (87.53 percent), Salt Lake City Airport in the United States (87.2 percent), and Brasilia Airport in Brazil (87.07 percent). The OTP rankings are derived from 54 million flight records over the year 2016.

Overall, Juanda Airport ranked third among all airports in the "OAG Punctuality League 2016". Birmingham Airport in the UK secured first place with an OTP of 91.28 percent in the medium-sized airport category (5-10 million passengers per year). Newcastle Airport in the UK (OTP 90.94 percent) came in second, ranking first in the small airport category (2.5-5 million passengers per year).
