PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero), or AP I, served 57.8 million passenger movements from January to October 2023. This figure surged 39% year-on-year (YoY) from 41.8 million passenger movements in the same period last year.
AP I President Director Faik Fahmi stated that passenger movements up to the third quarter of 2023 showed a higher recovery rate compared to the pre-COVID-19 pandemic period of 2020-2021.
"The recovery rate compared to the same period in 2019 reached 87%," said Faik in his official statement on Tuesday (14/11/2023).
According to AP I's official website, among the 15 airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali served the highest number of passenger movements until October 2023, with 17.7 million passengers. This comprises 8.1 million domestic passengers and 9.6 million international passengers.
Second is Juanda Airport in Surabaya, serving 11.6 million passengers, consisting of 9.9 million domestic passengers and 1.7 million international passengers.
Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar ranks third, with a total of 8.7 million passengers. This includes 8.4 million domestic passengers and 318,850 international passengers.
Faik expressed optimism about achieving the target of 70 million passengers by the end of the year. "At the end of the year, there will be a festive period, namely the Christmas holidays, which is projected to significantly boost traffic at Angkasa Pura Airports," said Faik.
