Toyota is Indonesia's Best-Selling Car Brand

Toyota remained the best-selling car brand in Indonesia throughout 2017. Data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (GAIKINDO) recorded that sales of the Japanese automaker reached 347,626 units, or 35 percent of total domestic car sales from January to November 2017, which amounted to 994,436 units. Total automotive sales this year grew by 1.9 percent from the same period the previous year, which only reached 975,842 units.

The second best-selling car brand was Daihatsu, with sales reaching 173,353 units or 17.43 percent of total sales, followed by Honda in third place with 171,574 units or 17.25 percent. The top 10 best-selling car brands accounted for almost 98 percent of car sales in Indonesia.
