Hyundai Motor Company's sales volume reached 347,377 units in August 2023. This figure represents a 3.2% year-on-year (YoY) increase, driven by sales of high-end models and SUVs.
In its report, the South Korean automaker stated that it successfully maintained its global sales momentum amidst a gradual recovery from the global parts shortage.
During August 2023, overseas car sales reached 291,822 units, a 1.5% YoY increase.
Domestic sales reached 55,555 units, showing a 12.9% year-on-year growth. Hyundai attributed this to several new models.
These models include the Grandeur, with 8,820 units sold, and SUVs, with 18,260 units sold in South Korea. Furthermore, Hyundai's luxury brand, Genesis, contributed 9,180 units to last month's sales volume.
Cumulatively, Hyundai has sold 2.7 million units globally this year, an 8.6% YoY increase fueled by strong market demand.
"To meet diverse customer needs, Hyundai Motor will continue to implement various measures to deliver class-leading products, including the new KONA SUV, IONIQ 5 N, and the Santa Fe SUV launched this year," Hyundai wrote in its report.
