PT KAI Commuter recorded 123,125,911 passengers on the Jabodetabek Commuter Line (KRL) throughout 2021, averaging 337,331 users per day. This figure represents a 19.6% decrease compared to 2020.
In 2020, the number of KRL passengers reached 153,154,151, with an average of 419,600 users per day.
The lowest number of KRL passengers in 2021 occurred in July, coinciding with the implementation of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) by the Government in the Java and Bali regions. The Jabodetabek KRL only served 5,048,440 passengers, or an average of 162,853 users per day.
Meanwhile, the highest number of Jabodetabek KRL passengers in 2021 occurred in December, totaling 13,749,618 passengers or 443,536 users per day. December 20, 2021, recorded the highest number of passengers throughout the year, with 506,630 passengers.
In addition to Jabodetabek, since February 2021, KAI Commuter has also operated KRL services in Yogyakarta-Solo. Throughout 2021, KRL passengers on the Yogyakarta-Solo route totaled approximately 1.7 million, averaging 5,325 users per day.
In total, KAI Commuter served approximately 124.8 million people in both Jabodetabek and Yogyakarta-Solo. This service was carried out in collaboration with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the health department, and local government officials to ensure that services were maximized and consistently followed applicable health protocols.
