Barbie Still Loses Out, These Are the World's Highest-Grossing Films of 2023

The Barbie movie has entered the ranks of the highest-grossing films globally. Directed by Greta Gerwig, the film had grossed US$1.35 billion by its 18th day of release, according to data from The Numbers.

However, this achievement only places Barbie as the second highest-grossing film internationally released in 2023. The film, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, has achieved 44.97% of its current total revenue.

Meanwhile, Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan's work released concurrently with Barbie, lags far behind at 9th place. Starring Cillian Murphy, this film grossed only US$556.19 million in its fourth week of release.

These two box office hits are still outperformed by The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Produced by Universal and Illumination, this film grossed US$1.35 billion by its final day in theaters.
