PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II reported very high air traffic at its airports, including Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, in December 2022.
"This was driven by improving conditions amidst the pandemic, as well as the peak season for the 2022/2023 Christmas and New Year holidays," said AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin, as quoted by Katadata.co.id on Monday (9/1/2023).
Awaluddin detailed that throughout January-December 2022, Soekarno-Hatta Airport served 40.54 million air passengers. This figure surged approximately 57% compared to January-December 2021.

2. Jakarta–Deli Serdang: 3.28 million passengers
3. Jakarta–Surabaya: 2.62 million passengers

"The increased flight demand could be accommodated with the availability of flight slot times and facilities at AP II airports, the readiness of airline fleets, support from AirNav Indonesia as the air navigation service provider, the readiness of ground handling, and support from regulators as well as the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri)," he said.
