Toyota Calya Among Top 10 Best-Selling Cars of 2016

The Toyota Avanza remains the top choice for four-wheeled vehicles among Indonesian people. This is evident from its consistently highest sales figures in the Indonesian market. From January to November 2016, this "people's car" was the best-selling vehicle in Indonesia, with nearly 113,000 units sold. This was followed by the Kijang Innova with sales reaching 53,000 units. According to Gaikindo data, total car sales in Indonesia during this eleven-month period reached 974,972 units.

However, the Avanza's position is starting to weaken with the arrival of the Toyota Calya. Although it only launched in mid-2016, specifically in August, this low-cost car has already managed to break into the top 10 best-selling cars this year. Until November 2016, its sales reached 39,800 units, placing it 6th. In September and October, it even outsold the Avanza, reaching the top spot. It is predicted that in 2017, the Toyota Calya could dominate the Indonesian market and surpass the Toyota Avanza.
