The financial services and insurance comparison website, Confused.com, released an index of the world's worst countries for drivers in March 2022.
The index analyzed factors such as the quality of road infrastructure, fatal accidents per 100,000 inhabitants, the number of speed cameras, and road traffic density.
The assessment of road conditions in 48 countries used a 0-100 scoring system, where 100 represents the highest level of stress for drivers.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) ranked highest as the worst country for drivers, scoring 88 out of 100.
The UAE received a high score in the fatal accident category, with 2,724.23 cases per 100,000 population—the highest among all countries analyzed.
Bulgaria ranked second with a score of 80 out of 100. This country received very poor scores for road infrastructure and fatal accidents.
Following Bulgaria were Turkey with a score of 78, Italy and Hong Kong with 76 each, the Czech Republic with 74, and Belgium with 72.
Malaysia ranked next with a score of 72, making it the only ASEAN country on the list.
