The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, said the government is providing economic stimulus in the form of transportation fare discounts in preparation for Lebaran 2026. The total budget allocated for this program is Rp911.16 billion, sourced from the State Budget and non-State Budget. The target passenger number for this program is around 7.35 million people, spread across air, sea, passenger ship, and train transportation modes. Here are the details of the passenger targets for the Lebaran 2026 transportation ticket discounts:
Discount on domestic economy class ticket fares of 17%-18% for the flight period of March 14-29, 2026, with a target of 3.3 million passengers
100% discount on port services for ferry transportation, valid from March 12-31, 2026, with a target of 945 thousand vehicles and 2.4 million passengers
30% discount during the period of March 14-29, 2026, with a target of 1.2 million passengers; and
30% discount on base fares during the period of March 11-April 5, 2026, with a target of 445 thousand passengers.
In addition to fare discounts, the government has also prepared a free homecoming program.
The Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, said his department has prepared a number of programs.
These include 401 buses to 34 destination cities in nine provinces, 50 thousand economy class passengers on sea transport, and 28,182 passengers for the Java Island railway line crossing the north, center, and south.
"We also conduct ramp checks or fitness tests on transportation facilities related to land, sea, air, and railway modes," he said at a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday (10/2/2026).
Dudy added that inspections are also carried out on road facilities, both toll roads and national arterial roads.
"We are coordinating with the Ministry of Public Works so that the public who cross these two roads can travel safely and comfortably," he added.
