PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), or KAI, reported that 42,596 foreign tourists (wisman) used trains in November 2025.
KAI's VP of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, stated that Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and Semarang remain favorite departure points for foreign tourists.
"Meanwhile, Cirebon showed a significant increase thanks to its rich history, culinary delights, and cultural destinations," Anne wrote in her press release on Sunday (December 7, 2025).
In November 2025, Gambir became the train departure station with the highest number of foreign tourist passengers, totaling 7,244 passengers or 17% of the total foreign tourist passengers.
Below is a list of the top 10 national departure stations with the most foreign tourist passengers in November 2025:
1. Gambir: 7,244 passengers
2. Yogyakarta: 5,979 passengers
3. Bandung: 3,936 passengers
4. Pasar Senen: 2,596 passengers
5. Surabaya Gubeng: 2,076 passengers
6. Semarang Tawang: 1,774 passengers
7. Surabaya Pasar Turi: 1,230 passengers
8. Malang: 1,208 passengers
9. Cirebon: 986 passengers
10. Solo Balapan: 888 passengers.
Cumulatively, 644,556 foreign tourists used trains from January to November 2025. This volume grew by 4.27% compared to the same period last year (year-on-year/yoy), which was 618,137 people.
"The increasing number of foreign tourists also drives the local economy and opens opportunities for MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) around the stations," said Anne.
