According to data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), domestic wholesale sales of cars reached 61,780 units in August 2025.
This volume represents a 1.48% increase compared to the previous month's sales (month-to-month/mtm) of 60,878 units.
In August 2025, Toyota was once again the best-selling car brand in Indonesia, with wholesale sales of 18,328 units, equivalent to 30% of total national sales.
It was followed by two other Japanese manufacturers, Daihatsu and Mitsubishi, which sold 9,846 and 6,781 units respectively.
Meanwhile, the Chinese manufacturer BYD remained in sixth place with sales of 2,562 units, and Wuling was in the top ten with 1,411 units.
Below is a list of the top 10 car brands with the highest wholesale sales volume in Indonesia in August 2025:
1. Toyota: 18,328 units
2. Daihatsu: 9,846 units
3. Mitsubishi: 6,781 units
4. Suzuki: 5,911 units
5. Honda: 4,375 units
6. BYD: 2,562 units
7. Mitsubishi Fuso: 2,201 units
8. Isuzu: 2,193 units
9. Hino: 1,424 units
10. Wuling: 1,411 units
Gaikindo also noted that several manufacturers did not record any wholesale sales during this period, namely Jeep, Peugeot, and Tata.
