Based on a report from the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI), motorcycle sales, both domestically and internationally, strengthened in July 2025.

Domestic motorcycle sales reached 587,048 units in July 2025, the highest figure for the year. This represents a 15.25% increase compared to June 2025 (month-to-month/mtm), which saw sales of 509,326 units.

Year-on-year (yoy), however, volume decreased by 1.97% compared to July 2024, when sales totaled 598,901 units.

During this period, Indonesia also exported 50,042 motorcycles. This figure includes completely built-up (CBU) motorcycle exports.

Export volume increased by 8.56% month-on-month (mtm). Compared to July 2024, it saw a slight increase of 0.05% (yoy).

AISI also recorded 12.97 million units of motorcycle parts exported from Indonesia in July 2025. This figure surged by 16.35% from the previous month (mtm).

AISI's Head of Commercial, Sigit Kumala, explained that this export growth is driven by the competitiveness of Indonesian products.

"Our products are more competitive. Globally, our quality is recognized in the automotive world," Sigit said in a statement, as reported by Kontan on Thursday, August 7, 2025.

He noted that Indonesia's main export markets are currently in ASEAN and Central Asia. However, he believes there are still untapped prospective markets, such as Latin America.
